I know this is supposed to be an ICT focused blog, but when I come across simple tech solutions I can't help wanting to share them. Came across this clever idea the other day in the digital stream of info that rushes past each day.
It's more of a skylight than a light, but what tickles me is its application for the poorer folk in any country who often live in dark and ill-lit places night and day because of the cost of the energy needed to shed light into their humble shelters.
Some ingenuity, an empty coke bottle, a few drops of bleach, a hole in a roof sheet that can be sealed against the rain, and hey-presto, some light and hope in a dark place.
Love it.
