Are you noticing the quality of Vodacom, MTN or CellC is dropping off?
You know the story of the frog in the slowly heating water which only notices his environment is deteriorating when it is too late? I'm wondering if that principle is at play with us on the cell networks here in SA? I find it extremely noticeable when I arrive in JHB for a few days. I can't get a network connection, calls drop, voice breaks up, all experiences we've all had at some time, it is just it seems to be more frequent than ever before.
Has traffic outstripped Capex needed for network upgrades? (no shortage of ready cash surely!) Has capex been redirected away from their 2G network to the 3G network? Or are there other underlying issues?
Without monitoring all the usual metrics like Answer Seize Ratio's, Network Termination Codes, etc. over time, it is not possible to say for sure. So. Let's hear from you if you reckon you can convince me one way or the other?
Has the quality of your cell calls got worse in the last 12 months?
Has the quality of your cell calls remained much the same in the last 12 months?
(Do you know of a quick and easy "poll" widget I should have been using here? ;)
