VOIP has made the headlines many times and for many reasons over the past five years. The latest is a full phone service that is based on voip technology. As offices move over to newer technologies it is essential to chose a provider that allows you to keep up with the times.

Great companies I work with

  • Tailored software to suit your pocket

  • The unseen power behind your network

  • Fast, reliable WiFi across SA

  • Connect and you can.

  • A balanced view on energy.

  • A household name in Hosting

  • PBX this way.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference ADSL on valium:

Yeah, I think Amobia has coverage there, we did a survey for Tim.

or "your DSL is on Valium? Tired of Prozac? ... to hell with the Net, try timeshare" ;)

I'm in a resi area (smallholdings with more horses/m^2 than PC's!), so it is weird that speed drops during day. But, yes... I'm sure the oversell is behind it all. Which is why I want better quality DSL, not just lower prices.

got an Amobia tower out this way Joe?
maybe I can get Tim S to do support for me instead of me for him... hah!

Joe

I can see the Telkom ad.. "ADSL on valium, for a smile on Botox".

Telkom talk about a 16:1 overselling ratio on the ADSL last mile.. and I think that's more like a "best case".. this explains your modem speed graph.

Stii

Blegh... Maybe not the same issues that some other folks got. Ag, worth a try anyways!

I dunno about your foxy crashing! I don't use Windows much these days, but I had a similar experience once with Flock (which is nothing other than the fox on steriods).

DaveG

eina! tried that Stii and f@#$%d up my connectivity completely! ;>

Have posed your suggestion to a few of our network propellorheads - maybe they can advise. Unless Joe (who knows far too much about what lies under the hood of IP than is good for him) gets there first!

I just know that DSL flies at times and at times is a complete and utter dog.

btw - I dig FireFox, but every time I fire it up the first time, it hangs. I nuke the process and from then on... no sweat. Can't find any ref on their knowledgebase and have yet to report it. Any ideas?

Stii

Not sure if this would help at all, but tons of people have been complaining and this sorted most of their issues:

Hope it helps!
